4 Best Friends, 30 Ballparks, 13,697 Miles
Best buddies since neighborhood Little League, four best friends from Seattle are planning the trip of a lifetime this summer. The week after graduation the Seattle teens will hit the open road in a camper van, with the goal of viewing one game in every major league ballpark.
The “Seattle Ballpark Boys” will load up their used camper van and hit all 30 ballparks in 54 days traveling 13,697 miles. It’s all about baseball, no frills. They’ll park in campgrounds and in the driveways of friends and family across the country.
The boys will depart Safeco Field on Saturday morning, June 11th, headed for their first game in Los Angeles. They’ll return to Seattle’s Safeco Field on August 4th. See complete itinerary.
Boyhood fans of Mariners baseball great Edgar Martinez, the “Seattle Ballpark Boys” are teaming up with The Martinez Foundation to support diverse and qualified teachers to give back in underserved communities, promoting equity and excellence in education for all students, regardless of race, ethnicity or socioeconomic status. The boys are seeking sponsors to cover the basic travel expenses of their trip and have pledged any funds raised above basic expenses.
